BUT THOSE WHO MINISTER UNTO GOD
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.\
Isaiah 40:31 (King James Version)
I was studying not too long ago when this revelation hit me and I was wowed.
Until lately I simply had a base understanding of the scripture quoted above. I never understood in depth what it really meant, but glory to God, I have the Holy Spirit. Journey with me as I try to share what I learnt from this experience of mine.
Have you ever thought about what the scripture means when it said "they that wait upon the Lord"? Have you ever considered that you may have misinterpreted that scripture. What does it mean to "wait upon someone? What is it's significance? and what is it's likely result?
Note: I am not saying that there aren't diverse revelations to this scripture, this is simply a piece of my understanding.
Now, to wait upon someone means to "minister to" or "serve" someone, not really in the light of slavery but service. For example, the waiter of waitress who takes your orders and serves you in a restaurant or at a public function, such person is waiting on you. Now I believe a lot of us have interpreted this scripture to mean "they that depend on the lord", I'd like you to take a look at it from this angle. It is good to depend and trust in God, He is sour source, but as we depend and trust in Him, we must also minister unto him, we must serve him. Why is this emphasized? This is because it is only then that we can draw strength, renew our strength.
Ministering unto God before his presence can never be compared to ministering unto men, when you offer you service, your act of worship unto him, you can never depart from his presence empty handed, there is always a blessing attached to ministering unto God. Even when you serve men faithfully and blessedly, they shower blessings on you, how much more our God. It is essential that we understand the dynamics of worship and service, for our blessings to always overflow, and this is gradual continuous and consistent process. This kind of service I am talking about can only make sense with the help of the Holy Spirit, coz that is the only kind that "The Father" recognizes - John 4:24.
Having understood what I'm trying to say, I think it is safe to say,
But they that MINISTER UNTO the LORD shall
renew [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they
shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint.\
Isaiah 40:31 ( FOBB's Version)
Botton line,
It is not just about depending upon God for blessing s and special interventions, it is not enough to just trust God for miracles and favour, it is not enough to just pray to God for mercy and grace, it is important to take your service and ministry unto God serious, because it is really in service that the blessings reside. We shouldn't just make God our money bag, or our go-to-man when we are in need or in trouble, we must serve him with the whole of our heart and strength. Now service is not just about singing, praying, going to church, it involves much more than that. You whole life must minister unto God, you lifestyle must minster unto Him. Never give unto God what will not cost you anything, be available when HE calls, be of help when needs arises. Take responsibilities for the kingdom when it comes. That is where the bulk of blessings, favour, grace, anointing reside.
Shalom
